PNECC have a few young riders (some as young as 6!) attending the Under-18 South Down College Cycle Coaching Sessions. Which run on alternative Saturday mornings 9-11:30am. Sign-on at 9am with sessions commencing 9:15am. A mid-morning break, then a second session finishing around 11:30am. The cost per rider is £3 and a helmet is Mandatory. South Downs College Cycle Coaching has its own facebook - see link below.
Additional coaching sessions are delivered, when promulgated, at the Mountbatten Cycle Track in Alexanadra Park, Portsmouth. Again times of signing-on and rider fees announced on social media or the South Downs College facebook page.
Parents are required to provide a Parental Consent Form when the young rider attends their first coaching session. Download one from here and present it to the coach when attending. We ask riders to also read the Code of Conduct for Parents, Volunteers & Young Persons. We ask that Support Crew (parents/responsible adults) remain on site during sessions.
All the coaches are British Cycling qualified Level 2 or Level 3 & also have discipline specific qualifications e.g. Track, Road & Time-Trial
Often (coach discretion) experienced riders may assist in sessions, helping riders to gain confidence - especially when in groups.
All the above coaching sessions are delivered in a traffic-free environment.
